Bob Grotticelli
Sr. Director
Bartenders Academy® of New York

The director of the Farmingdale location, "Big Bob" has been working behind the pine since 1994. Beginning as a busboy/server he was quickly promoted to captain/bartender.  Since, he worked in bars, irish pubs, restaurants, corporate restaurants, catering halls and nightclubs.  Bob often jokes that he has worked in every kind of bar besides a strip club.

In late 2001/early2002, he decided to take bartending to the next level and learned how to flair bartend from Bartenders Academy's®  own Chris Cardone.  In November 2002, he competed in his first Flair Bartending competion which was Grand Cayman Masters 2. Since, Bob has competed in a number of other local, national and world competitions, his highlights include a 2nd place finish in Dec. 2003 and a 1st place finish at a World Qualifier in 2004.

In the summer of 2004, he began teaching at the Bartenders Academy® of New York.  In June 2005, he was selected as one of five judges for New York's second annual International Flair Bartending Competition, the Big Apple Showdown.

Bob currently tends bar at Granny O’Shea’s Pub in Farmingdale, just minutes from the farmingdale location.  Come on down and watch him help sober people kick the habit.
